Haus der Berge
Welcome to the Visitor Centre Sexten!
A tower built from local wood. A striking link between mountain and valley, between mountaineer and summit cross. But the HAUS DER BERGE in Sexten is much more than an architectural landmark: it houses the information point for visitors, serves as a visitor centre for alpinism in the Sexten Dolomites – with exhibition, interactive map and freely accessible panoramic terrace. A place for exchange, inspiration and information.

Experience the mountains
A guided tour through the Haus der Berge.
At the HAUS DER BERGE, everything revolves around the Sexten Dolomites – and the pale peaks can be experienced up close. Of course, the focus is on providing information, but for those who long for the mountains yet cannot or do not wish to venture into high altitudes, the visitor centre offers an attractive alternative. A complete mountain experience awaits – in all its facets. From the history of alpinism in Sexten to mountaineering stories and interactive experiences, including a sense of altitude.
- The home of the Sexten tourist association. Here you will receive friendly advice and a wealth of information about holidays in Sexten and the many possibilities for active leisure. A large digital wall allows visitors to explore the village, its people, the Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage and the Nature Park Drei Zinnen interactively in both summer and winter.
- Undoubtedly the heart of mountain expertise. This is a large floor map covering the entire mountain area around Sexten. Visitors can explore the territory interactively, displaying hiking trails, long-distance routes, climbing gardens and via ferratas, open ski slopes and lifts, and much more.
- This level is dedicated to the close mountain friendship between Sexten and its Swiss partner municipality Zermatt. Both places are shaped by life in the mountains and share more than 150 years of alpine history. Visitors can experience the ascent of the Matterhorn and the normal route to the Big Peak through a VR documentary.
- A summit experience with premium views. The ascent to the top floor of the HAUS DER BERGE is rewarded with the best view of the Sexten mountain sundial. A large terrace and a panoramic reading room invite visitors to linger and admire the mountains.
- The HAUS DER BERGE is complemented by a directly adjacent service area. Here, visitors and mountain enthusiasts will find everything they need for their next outdoor adventure: mountain guides, Bike Academy, Tandemfly, ski school, ski rental and, of course, the Helmjet Sexten bottom station.
