Mountain bike tours – with or without electric assistance!
The most popular bike tours starting in Sexten lead through the Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage, from 1,300 metres up to 2,400 metres above sea level, even crossing the borders between South Tyrol, Osttirol and the neighbouring province of Belluno. Unlimited freedom in the saddle! Add to that fresh mountain air, panoramic views of the Sexten Dolomites and well-deserved breaks at managed Alpine huts. The Bike Academy Sextner Dolomiten and the Stoneman team – local experts – offer guided tours and are always happy to provide helpful tips. So, hop on the saddle!
- Stoneman is the ultimate bike experience for those who want to push their limits! A 115-kilometre route, 4,000 metres of elevation gain and breathtaking views of the Sexten Dolomites. The trail was designed by mountain bike professional Roland Stauder – a local from Sexten who knows these mountains inside out. The challenge? Reach all checkpoints of the marked trail within a maximum of 72 hours and stamp the symbols on your wristband. The starter package with wristband, map and elevation profile is available at four entry points. Those who complete the route within the time limit return to the issuing point, receive the coveted Stoneman trophy and are listed as proud finishers on the official Stoneman website. Participation is possible between June and September.

- If you want to explore the natural landscape of Sexten and the Three Peaks Dolomites Region by bike without focusing on altitude gain, the valley cycle paths are the perfect choice. A network of routes leads from Talschlusshütte hut in Fischleintal valley to Innichen and from there along the Pustertal cycle path to Bruneck – and beyond. Those planning a trip to Osttirol can continue from Innichen along the scenic Drau cycle path to Lienz. The return journey from Bruneck or Lienz can be made comfortably by train back to Innichen.
- It’s time to ride! In Sexten, a professional bike school offers guided tours, skills training and individual coaching for all levels. Certified local guides accompany you on varied trails through the mountain landscape of the Sexten Dolomites. The focus is on safety, technique and riding enjoyment. In addition to daily MTB tours, e-bike experiences and private training sessions are available. The Bike Academy also includes its own rental service with workshop.
