Some traditions are untouchable – others are in need of reinvention. To escape the hustle and bustle of the traditional New Year celebrations, Sexten remains true to its own distinctive rhythm: 30 December remains our day of reflection – but the way we bid goodbye to the old year will surprise you
Anyone expecting to experience the celebrations in the usual way is in for a surprise. The event is breaking with old traditions and will take place in a completely different setting with a brand-new production.

Start of the torchlight walk: 5.00 pm (registration required)
Arrival at the Waldheim circular cross-country ski trail: 5.30 pm
Start of the New Year’s Eve event: approx. 5.30 pm (no registration required)

Warm winter clothing and sturdy footwear are recommended.
Registered participants will be given a torch at the relevant meeting point. Children under the age of 8 are welcome to join the walk, but will not be given their own torch. The torchlight walk ends at the Waldheim circular cross-country ski trail, where all guests – whether or not they have registered for the walk – can enjoy the New Year’s Eve celebrations together.
