It was on 18 July 1869, early one Sunday morning, when three mountain climbers shook hands on the Punta dei Tre Scarperi. The first officially documented summit rendezvous between man and mountain in the Sesto Dolomites, and the starting signal for many more.
Exactly 150 years later, this remarkable milestone in Sesto’s history will be fittingly celebrated, with great live music and a gourmet picnic, in the “Stadile Winkl”, at the foot of the Punta dei Tre Scarperi. Be there, when the original route will be spectacularly illuminated.
After a small welcome aperitif at the historical “tourist house” in Val Fiscalina, the actual PEAKnic starts in the “Stadile Winkl”. The original “Sexnter PEAKnic baket” for two promises all sorts of culinary treats, prepared by star chef Chris Oberhammer, as well as small but fine utensils, which will also remind you at home of the special evening.
In a cosy atmosphere, Bene Benedikt, editor-in-chief of the magazine Alpin, and other guests entertain us with amusing mountaineer’ stories in the light of the illuminated first ascent route to the Punta dei Tre Scarperi.
Look forward to an exclusive evening and celebrate with us this milestone in Sesto’s alpine history.
