Ski mountaineering race in the Sexten Dolomites

On 09 march one of the most known ski mountaineering competitions in South Tyrol takes place in Sexten/Sesto.

From the start at Rifugio Piano Fiscalina in Sexten the race, with a differnece in altitude of 1,500 m and a distance of 13.8 km, leads to Talschlusshütte hut, then on to Zsigmondyhütte and Büllelejochhütte hut. There the athletes remove the skins and race down to the Bödenseen lakes. Now they must shoulder their skis and walk to Sextner Stein mountain, there the fast descent to Talschlusshütte hut starts, the finish of the Drei Zinnen Ski Raid.
