Ski mountaineering race in the Sexten Dolomites

CANCELED FOR SAFETY REASONS
Sesto, March 7, 2024 – Everything was actually set for a big celebration of ski mountaineering in Sesto this weekend. However, the snowfall of the past two days and the expected precipitation on Saturday make it impossible to hold the 25th Three Peaks Ski Raid for safety reasons.

On 09 march one of the most known ski mountaineering competitions in South Tyrol takes place in Sexten/Sesto.

From the start at Rifugio Piano Fiscalina in Sexten the race, with a differnece in altitude of 1,500 m and a distance of 13.8 km, leads to Talschlusshütte hut, then on to Zsigmondyhütte and Büllelejochhütte hut. There the athletes remove the skins and race down to the Bödenseen lakes. Now they must shoulder their skis and walk to Sextner Stein mountain, there the fast descent to Talschlusshütte hut starts, the finish of the Drei Zinnen Ski Raid.
